United Airlines write-up

United Airlines is the sixth largest airline in the world with 86,000 employees and has 721 air crafts. They travel more international locations than domestic locations. They travel to 73 countries around the world.
Their motto is: Fly the Friendly Skies

United has been in the news a lot in the past two years...
   - A doctor on an overbooked flight was dragged off the plane, overbooking has also been an issue with United

    - A German Sheppard was suppose to go to Kansas, but ended up in Japan

     - The 10-month old French Bulldog who was ordered to be put in the overhead compartment and dies before the flight landed

     - A Nigerian woman who is suing United because of racial profiling. A white man had taken her seat in business class and he refused to move, the flight attendant asked the woman to find another seat. She was the told to leave the plane because people were complaining about her 'pungent' odor.

If I were the CEO I would have all the staff retrained and I would maybe shut down for a day like Starbucks did and do a non discrimination re-train of all staff. I would also evaluate the animal situation and put policies into place so something like that never happens again.

What has changed: United has reduced overbooking, and has reduced the passengers being bumped off the flight, but that's about it. They say they are against racial discrimination, and they are deeply sorry about the pets that have been killed/ gone to different locations. They have banned certain dog breeds such as Pugs, French Bulldogs, Mastiffs and Pit Bulls, which is not good in my opinion. A spokesman for United stated, “We are doing this to further minimize risk and ensure the comfort of pets we fly,” says Hobart. “Prior to today, we flew all sorts of animals. Geese, foxes, leopards, you name it, we pretty much flew it. That will change moving forward. We’ll only fly dogs and cats as pets that belong to our customers.
